Laytown Races are truly one of a kind. Taking place on the sandy Irish coast, the meeting is 150 years old. It has seen some of the greatest jockeys take to the saddle like Mick Fitzgerald and has even had a BBC documentary made about it. The famous Velka Pardubicka takes place at Pardubice racecourse on the outskirts of the incredible city of Prague which is one of the most beautiful cities to visit. Fuchu Racecourse
The Japan Cup is one of the most prestigious horse racing in Japan and the locals are extremely enthusiastic about their horses and this sport which has produced some of the top thoroughbreds in the world with the likes of Almond Eye and Deirdre. This race takes place at Fuchu racecourse over a distance of 2400 metres (1 ½ miles) with a purse of ¥476million (£3.2million).
During its relatively short history, the race has established itself as an international contest with winners from Japan, North America, Britain, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, France and Germany.
